Teams and members update
Vale Badminton Club has entered three men’s teams, one ladies and two mixed teams in the Cardiff and District Badminton League for 2009/10. This is one less mixed team than last year and is due to the declining number of lady members and some long-term injures. We hope to have some of those injured players back up and running in time for the new season and we are still on the look out for new members!
It was agreed at the annual meeting that team selection will be made by the club committee at a meeting on Tuesday, September 1 and all paid-up members will be considered for selection, unless we are informed otherwise. Team captains will be appointed after the teams have been selected.
To be considered for team selection members have to be fully paid up as of September 1. If members who pay quarterly have not paid their summer fees – June to August inclusive (£60 full member) – they will not be eligible for team selection.
Again, for those paying quarterly, fees for September- December inclusive (£60 full member) will be due on September 1. Team members will need to pay this fee before the start of the new league season in mid September, otherwise they may not be considered for the opening games of the new season.
The increasing price of shuttles and a decline in membership means that we have to be strict in fee collection to ensure we stay on the right side of the bank! For those who wish to set up a direct debit for club fees, contact our treasurer Glyn… he’ll be more than pleased to see you!
