For those who missed the shot…
“Well Byron, your misplaced backhand caused quite a stir at Bridgend casualty…
After an hour’s wait and increasing limited visibility through muddy waters, the duty doctor took one look, told me I had a serious blunt eye injury with internal bleeding and also had a ‘pupil in shock’ and rang through to Cardiff to see if an eye specialist could see me immediately.
Spent an hour with a specialist at the Heath who diagnosed a serious eye trauma with bleeding behind the eye and a swelling in the socket (bleeding caused me to see everything in sepia and through a mist).
Bottom line is I was told I can’t drive, no sport for a month, second opinion with another specialist on Wednesday, drops seven times a day to keep the pupil ‘engorged’ to aid healing, and total rest for a week!
Sod that. Drove home last night from Cardiff, drove to work this morning but will take a couple of weeks away from badminton… until Byron can promise to hit his ‘cock cleanly.
I will pop in tomorrow (Tuesday) to try and finalise third team selection and pay a cheque to Glyn (it’s come to something to have to pay to be blinded!).
Otherwise, everything is hunkydory, if a little fuzzy at the edges.
cheers
Simon”
